Bodhi to Scotland
Year 9 student Bodhi, earned his first international basketball caps over half term in a series of international test matches for Wales v Scotland. He was selected as part of a 17 strong squad that travelled to Dundee for 2 U15 tests and a friendly v Scotland u16s.
With 12 places available in each match, Bodhi was one of only 7 players to be selected for both tests and one of just 5 to feature in all three games.
Wales won both test matches. The first was a close contest with Wales winning by 4, 71 - 67. In the second test, Wales overwhelmed Scotland in the 3rd quarter, running out winners by a blow out 33 point margin 79 – 46 to sweep the test series.
With defence the key to success in all the matches, it was Bodhi’s defensive strength and communication that kept him in the game for long periods. When he entered the game for his first cap in the 4th minute of game one he didn’t sub out until 28 minutes later. That became the norm for him all weekend contributing with points, rebounds, assists and steals.
All at Bishops wish Bodhi well for the trials to be scheduled in summer. These to select a Wales training cohort to compete in the U16 four nations tournament to be held in Ireland next spring.
