European Day of Languages
The European Day of Languages is held across Europe on 26th September every year - this year being the 20th anniversary of the initiative.
At Bishops, we celebrated on Friday 24th. Across school, some teachers practised their language skills, writing the date in a different language, greeting students in a different language and some lessons had a focus on an element of how the subject being studied had links to figures from Europe or how there are different approaches to the subject (maths being an obvious example). In the Languages department, we launched our competition, with students invited to find the 25 pictures of European landmarks which are around school and find out in which country and capital city they are located.
